Target

Two to three individuals

Description

Further communion with The Stranger has imparted upon you knowledge of a blood magic that is yet unknown to your brethren. Using a strand of silk, you may bind up to three targets together, dealing 1d4 damage to each of them.

Each target must then make a Constitution saving throw against your spellcasting DC, and in order for the rest of the spell to work, at least two of your targets must fail their saving throws. If less than two targets fail their Constitution saving throws, the spell fizzles.

If, however, two or more targets fail their Constitution saving throws, they are Bound by Blood. Creatures that are Bound by Blood take an additional 1d4 from all physical damage, and 1d10 of any physical damage dealt to one creature that is Bound by Blood is dealt to the other creatures that are Bound by Blood to it.

At Higher Levels

Spell Slot Level Additional Damage Damage Shared
4th +1d4(2d4) +1d10(2d10)
6th +1d4(3d4) +1d10(3d10)
8th +1d4(4d4) +1d10(4d10)

Notes

The spell lasts for as long as two of the targets are still Bound by Blood.

At the beginning of each of a target's turns, that target may attempt a Constitution saving throw against your spellcasting DC. If that target fails, then they remain Bound by Blood. If, however, that target succeeds, the effect dissipates.

If there are only two targets with Bound by Blood remaining, and one of them succeeds in a Constitution saving throw against your spellcasting DC, the other target automatically succeeds their saving throw at that instant, and the effects of Bind by Blood instantly cease.
